Live Streaming Video Production Process

RECCE VISIT

When possible we like to visit the live streaming venue ahead of time. We take note of where we can position our cameras for optimal filming positions, check the internet speed of the venue to determine if we need additional equipment to broadcast the stream, locate power outlets, plan where cabling would need to be laid, and mark where the emergency exits are located.

ORGANISE CREW

All of fly’s live streaming crew are briefed in advance on what the stream is about and what their task for the day is. Each team member carries a carefully constructed and detailed call sheet with the live streaming timings and key activities listed on it, ensuring we never miss a moment.

SETUP

We make sure to arrive early on the day of the event to setup our equipment, make sure everything is fully operational, and tape off any potential accident areas from the public.

DELIVERY

All of our live streaming productions are mixed and edited in realtime on location and recorded and transcoded into a single video file, meaning that as soon as the stream has ended, we can provide you with the final film in whatever format the you require. Additional charges may apply for any edits or amendments to the footage after the stream has concluded.

MULTI- CAMERA SHOOTING

We can capture your live stream using multiple cameras positioned at different angles and focal lengths, giving your production a professional broadcast quality look and feel that you wouldn’t believe is actually being streamed live, and for a fraction of the price!

SOCIAL STREAMING

Our Live streaming setup allows us to broadcast on multiple social media platforms, including facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Twitter, as well as your own personal website. We also have the technical ability to output multiple streams to different platforms simultaneously (additional charges may apply).

We use state of the art cinema cameras for our live stream productions, giving all of our films a cinematic quality that you wouldn’t believe is actually being streamed live. We utilise a mixture of Canon and Sony cinema cameras for our live streams, employing a mixture of handheld, tripod and motorised sliding shots. This gives us the ability to shoot with a mixture of focal lengths and adapt our shooting style to be appropriate for whatever the content may be.

Can I have music on my live stream?

We have access to a large online library of over 2000 professionally produced royalty free instrumental and vocal music tracks covering a vast range of genres and moods insuring that whatever the content, we can find the right music track to elevate it.

Licensed music can also be used during your live stream but will need to be cleared unless it is your own original music or cover version. Video sites such as Youtube will check for rights violations and in some cases can block the video.

Do I need a Presenter?

We have access to a wide range of presenters at flycreative, and we’re certain we can find the right host for your production should you need it.

A good presenter is able to engage with the viewers. They should be interested and involved in topic they are representing and they should have a good understanding of who is watching and why.

We chose the presenters that do their research. They know subject matter well, and they ask the questions that an audience would like to hear answers to.

They are friendly, approachable, empathetic and energetic. They carry the show and are the glue that binds the whole thing together.

What internet speed do I need to stream live video?

The quality of the video you can stream is defined by your internet’s upload speed. As an example, YouTube HD requires a minimum of 3.5 Mbps.

You need a little headroom so if you have a 4Mbps upload speed you are safe. Facebook live also recommends a minimum speed of 4mbps.

What if there is no internet connection at my venue?

Our streams are reliant on having a stable internet connection, but when a reliable WIFI or Ethernet connection is not available we have a contingency in place.

We build our streaming packages to offer the best value which is achieved by using the venues internet connection.

It is possible for us to provide an LTE internet connection which bonds multiple mobile 4G sources to achieve faster speeds, but it will be at an additional data cost a bit like mobile phone data charges, and calculated by the length and quality of the stream.

How is Audio recorded?

When possible an Audio feed is taken directly from the Sound Desk and mixed into one of our cameras. This ensures that the audio is as clean and clear as possible.

When this is not an option we also have a range of wireless lapel mics, hand microphones and external recorders available.

How much does it cost?

Our prices start from £950 (+VAT) for our basic live streaming package. This includes one camera and one streaming platform.
